Winter in Sarlat has nothing in the way of becoming numb. An active life associated with culture and sport, offers a good motive not to be tempted to withdraw at home. The fact that the markets coincide with the year end festivals contributes largely to their success and, more than often, buyers from afar come in search of these produces, affirming SARLAT as the capital of gastronomy.

The tiny streets have found their calm; perhaps the best period for lovers to visit. As night falls, the gas lights, often veiled in a halo of fog, restore that special ambiance that plunges us back to the Middle Ages.
