The capital of the Périgord Noir, offers its secret small valleys to discover, as well as its small streams (les Beunes) which cool down the hot summers. There are also the riverside banks of the Dordogne and la Vézère only a short distance away. On an autumnal day, Sarlat can be seen under yellowing trees of autumn light, and when the frost falls it dresses the countryside like a fragile crystal. And then you have the spring time, fading into tender greens and the valleys sprinkled with oak trees that are wide awake.
Sarlat is unique yet varied. One appreciates its mild climate in all seasons.
